​Tower Hamlets Council refers itself to the regulator over consumer compliance failings

East London local authority becomes latest council to self-refer after review identified fire safety and data gaps

Tower Hamlets Council has referred itself to the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) after a review of its housing management found areas where it is not meeting the new consumer regulation standards.

 The council commissioned an audit after bringing housing management back in house following the closure of its arms length management organisation in November last year.
