Wider understanding of the community where a new scheme is based will ensure that it is fit for use

The social housing sector needs to be “collecting a lot more data” to secure socially valuable outcomes for projects, Procure Plus’ managing lead has told the Chartered Institute of Housing’s South West conference.

Gwen Beeken, speaking at the event in Bristol, said: “[The Procurement Act] is going to widen our focus, so not just thinking about what we procure, but what is delivered as a result of that procurement.
