Planning reform in the year ahead – a lot to do but the signs are promising

The latest planning statistics make grim reading for a Labour government trying to increase housing delivery. The number of new homes granted planning permission is at it’s lowest level for a decade. Just seven out of 10 applications for new homes were approved last year, a 7% drop on the year before.
