Once completed in April 2022 the Hodgson Gate development will feature 270 homes
Work has begun on Yorkshire Housing’s Hodgson Gate scheme, the housing association’s largest development to date.
Designed by MHA Architects, the 270-home scheme is valued at £55m and is being built by Countryside Properties on a 25-acre site at Sherburn in Elmet in North Yorkshire.
Planning permission for the scheme was granted last year.
Once completed in April 2022, the development will have delivered 95 properties for sale, 23 for private rent, 58 for affordable rent, 32 for rent-to-buy and 62 for shared ownership. The properties will range from one to five bedrooms.
Andy Gamble, director of development at Yorkshire Housing, said: “We’re delighted that our hard work will provide an opportunity for hundreds of people to move into high-quality new homes.
“Our progress means we can deliver more much-needed homes to the region as we continue working towards our strategic priority of delivering 3,120 homes by 2021 and a further 3,000 new homes by 2025-26.”
Yorkshire Housing currently manages 18,000 social rent and affordable homes and plans to build more than 3,000 homes by 2021.
It recently finished its 1,000th new home.
