Contractor will deliver 266 homes for Wolverhampton council-owned housing firm
Willmott Dixon is to build the largest housing scheme to date for WV Living, the housing company set up three years ago by Wolverhampton city council.
The £34m scheme will build The Marches development (pictured) of one, two and three-bedroom homes, designed by BM3 Architecture, on the site of a former high school in the city.
Of the 266 homes to be built 67 – 25% – will be affordable.
Work is expected to start imminently, with residents moving into the first completed homes later this year.
A private limited company set up in 2016, WV Living aims to build 1,000 new homes in the next four years.
It is currently developing three schemes around Wolverhampton, with 77 homes being built across the sites of two former primary schools and 40 homes being built on the site of a former leisure centre.
