South Yorkshire deal worth £31.5m
Contractor Willmott Dixon is to build 171 homes in Rotherham for local developer Rother Living in a £31.5m deal.
The homes are split across three disused industrial sites and include 129 council and shared ownership homes.
The three schemes, located on Westgate, Wellgate and Sheffield Road, have been designed by Bond Bryan Architects and are due for completion in 2022. Adept Consulting Engineers is also on the project team for structural engineering.
Willmott Dixon has agreed to donate 5% of the project value into the local community, amounting to £1.3m across all three schemes.
The money will help to fund local schools and colleges, community projects and charities.
Willmott Dixon teams will also be holding workshops with local ex-offenders and unemployed people to help them back into employment.
The firm recently completed a 118-home scheme in Doncaster, and is currently on site at a 59-home scheme in Leeds which is due to complete this year.
