2.5-acre scheme
Weston Homes plans to build 227 new homes including nine affordable units on the site of the former Watford Laundry Factory.
The affordable accommodation will comprise of one, two and three bedroom homes on the 2.5-acre site.
The development, an £85m scheme situated near Watford Underground station, will comprise eight new buildings, ranging in height from three to 11 storeys.
Building work is expected to start this autumn and complete in 2021.
Weston Homes’ chief executive Bob Weston said the Watford acquisition was the 10th his firm had completed in the past six months.
The housebuilder now had a development portfolio of more than 7,500 homes, Weston said.
