Development already has outline permission from Milton Keynes council to build on its land
Housebuilding giant Vistry has agreed a deal with Milton Keynes City Council to build a 930-home development to the north east of the city.
The £270m scheme would Vistry work as a development partner to build a new village on 45ha of council land at Tickford Fields, east of Newport Pagnell.
Outline planning consent is in place for the project, where just under a third (31%) of the properties will be available on the affordable market.
It will include a mix of homes ranging from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom houses, and will also include community, education, and recreation facilities.
The scheme will also incorporate air source heat pumps and use open-panel timber frame construction.
Andy Reynolds, managing director of Vistry Group’s partnerships division in the South East Midlands, said: “It’s exciting to be working together with Milton Keynes City Council on this major new development that aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable, and community-centric places to live.
“We are determined to create a scheme that not only blends seamlessly with its surroundings but sets new benchmarks in modern living and offers benefits to the local community.”
Vistry yesterday published its results for the year to 31 December 2024, which saw a 64% drop in pre-tax profit.
The housebuilder admitted that the performance was “significantly below” its expectations at the start of the year, reflecting the full impact of cost forecasting errors in its southern division.
