The 44-storey Anaconda Cut development in Salford is 131m tall
Building work has recently finished on what is claimed to be the second-tallest tower dedicated to renters in the UK.
Designed by Manchester-based OMI Architects, the 44-storey Anaconda Cut in Salford is 131m tall and contains 349 apartments, as well as gym facilities and car parking for 79 vehicles across three basement levels.
The main contractor on the job, the cost of which was not revealed, was Renaker Build, which built the 28-storey Water Street residential development in Manchester’s Castlefield district.
A communal terrace has been created on the tower’s 17th floor, while the 43rd floor comprises what owner Atlas Residential calls a “sky lounge”, which is open to all residents.
The wider masterplan for the area around the building is expected to see a proliferation of residential developments over the next 10 years.
The UK’s tallest rental residential tower is the 45-storey Uncle block at Elephant and Castle, south London.
