Elspeth Mackenzie to step back at the end of the year

Elspeth Mackenzie joined the housing association as its chief in 2009, a year after it was founded, having previously been boss of Griffin Homes.

Thrive now provides nearly 6,000 affordable homes across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

As well as leading Thrive, Mackenzie has also been vice-chair of Crown Housing Association, chair of Grange Housing, and involved in a range of other voluntary roles in housing.

Reflecting on her time as chief, Mackenzie said: “It has been an absolute privilege to lead Thrive Homes for the past decade and a half.

“As a leading housing association, we do vital work in providing homes for those the market fails to serve.

“I am very proud of what we have achieved in the time I have been Chief Executive, it has been a pleasure to work with such a talented group of people and I am confident that the organisation is in safe and capable hands.”

She will remain in post until the end of the year. A recruitment process for Mackenzie’s successor is underway.
