Stonewater will manage the scheme which is 100% affordable

Thakeham has secured permission for a 124-home scheme in Hailsham, east Sussex.

Wealden District Council’s planning committee has approved the scheme, which will be 100% affordable and acquired and managed by housing association Stonewater once built.

The proposed scheme will deliver 124 homes for affordable tenures

The Lower Horsebridge scheme will deliver 94 homes and 34 flats and provide a mixture of homes for social rent, affordable rent and shared ownership.

Each home at will have its own dedicated electric vehicle charge point and secure cycle storage, while sustainable forms of renewable energy generation such as solar panels and air source heat pumps will be installed.

The development will feature a public space and target a minimum on-site biodiversity net gain of 10%.

Marie Riordan, regional development director at Stonewater, said: “Every home delivered at Lower Horsebridge has been designed to not only be affordable to own and rent but also maintain thanks to innovative energy-efficient features.”
