Hickey has been the housing association’s finance boss since 2009
Susan Hickey, who has served as Peabody’s chief financial officer for the past decade, has announced she is to leave the housing association early next year.
Hickey (pictured) joined Peabody from Hastoe Housing Group in 2009. A qualified chartered accountant, her previous roles included working on private finance initiatives at contractor Balfour Beatty.
Brendan Sarsfield, Peabody’s chief executive, said in a statement: “After 10 very successful years with Peabody, Susan has decided that the time is right for a change.
“I am grateful to Susan for her financial leadership through a period of significant business growth and for the excellent support she has provided to me and to the board. She leaves the organisation in a strong financial position.”
Sarsfield said the search for a replacement had already started.
Speaking about her departure Hickey said: “It has been a privilege to be Peabody’s chief financial officer for the past 10 years.
“In 2009 our net assets were £225m and they now stand at over £3bn, alongside significant growth in the number of affordable homes.
“This places Peabody in a very strong position to continue to deliver our core social purpose: to help people make the most of their lives.”
