Andrew Cornelius is the new chief financial and operating officer at Macar Homes
Surrey-based housebuilder Macar Homes has hired former Stonebond chief executive Andrew Cornelius as its new chief financial and operating officer.
During his five-year stint at Stonebond, Andrew Cornelius established six regional operations, leading business growth from around £20m in revenue in 2019 to an expected £150m in 2024.
Stonebond, founded by the sons of Countryside founder Alan Cherry, announced earlier this year that Cornelius was moving on to take up a role closer to his home in Surrey and to spend more time with his young family.
Founded in 2017, mixed-tenure developer Macar Homes delivers housing across Surrey, Sussex and Kent.
It has recent site starts in Kingswood, Oxshott and Kenley.
The firm’s founder and chief executive, Alex MacDonald said: “I am delighted to welcome Andrew to the Board of Macar as CFO & COO.

“His exceptional track record and experience within housebuilding coupled with his background in finance and leadership qualities, ideally positions him to lead our finance and operations at Macar as we look to grow our operational presence across the Southern and Northern Home Counties.”
Cornelius has also headed finance at the Berkeley Group.
