New chief operating officer has been with housebuilder since 2008

Stewart Lynes, Chief Operating Officer, Miller Homes

Scottish-based housebuilder Miller Homes has named Stewart Lynes as the firm’s new chief operating officer.

Lynes (pictured) joined Miller Homes as commercial director 11 years ago, becoming the group’s managing director in Scotland in 2013 before adding the firm’s activities in the north of England to his list of responsibilities.

The newly created role of chief operating officer will see Lynes oversee land acquisitions and Miller’s overall housebuilding operations, reporting into the housebuilder’s chief executive Chris Endsor.

Miller Homes, which aims to build 4,000 homes by 2021, recently announced a half year operating profit of £78m on turnover for the six months to the end of June 2019 of £389m.

The firm announced earlier this year it had agreed plans with Linden Homes the housebuilding arm of Galliford Try, to build 750 homes on land bought by the two firms near Chichester in West Sussex.
