Pair will deliver new homes as part of Harry Stoke development
Sovereign housing association has signed an agreement with Crest Nicholson to deliver nearly 1,000 homes on a residential scheme in Bristol.
Crest Nicholson will build 920 homes in a joint venture worth £229m as part of the next phase of the 2,700-home development at Harry Stoke.
As part of the jv Newbury-based Sovereign, which currently manages nearly 60,000 homes across the UK, has agreed to buy 376 affordable and intermediate homes it is developing with Crest Nicholson. The rest will be sold on the open market.
The affordable homes will be a mix of one and two-bedroom flats, plus two, three and four-bedroom houses.
The Harry Stoke development occupies a 65-acre site near Bristol Parkway railway station and is expected to be finished by 2026, with the first completed homes ready for occupation towards the end of this year.
As well the 920 homes the jv will deliver community contributions worth nearly £10m, plus a community hub, a local retail centre and a primary school site.
The Harry Stoke job is not the first tie-up between Sovereign and Crest Nicholson. The pair have worked together on another development in Bristol, at Harbourside, as well as Centenary Quay in Southampton and Tadpole Garden Village in Swindon.
