Well-known housing veteran says SNG role is his ‘last big job’ after career spanning several decades.
Sovereign Network Group (SNG) executive Tom Titherington has announced he is to stand down as the association’s chief investment and development officer at the end of the year.
Titherington is leaving SNG after five years and a half years with the 84,000-home provider.
He has previously served in senior roles for a handful of large London-based housing associations, including Catalyst Housing, Network Homes and Hyde Group.
SNG said Titherington has built a 230-home strong team. He has launched a Homes and Place Standard to measure and improve the quality of SNG homes, and has been working to deliver against SNG’s plan to build 25,000 new homes and retrofit 15,000 existing homes over 10 years.
Titherington has also been leading on the disposal or demolition of 4,500 homes that SNG has decided should not be retrofitted, along with regeneration schemes.

Titherington said: “I don’t want to use the word ‘retire’ because I don’t feel that I am retiring. But even after my long career, I know there is more to life than housing.
“I’m not certain what the future holds, although I suspect my role here at SNG was my last ‘big job’.
“I am grateful to [chief executive] Mark Washer and the board at SNG for the opportunity and I am really proud of what we have achieved together.”
