JV is working up reserved matters planning applications for 660 homes at Kingston Bagpuize

A joint venture company set up by the two organisation has purchased land at Kingston Bagpuize with outline planning permission in place and is currently working up reserved matters planning applications.

Located in the Vale of White Horse, 231 of the homes are set to be for affordable tenures, including affordable rent and shared ownership. The rest of the units will be for private sale.

The mix of houses and flats will be built with energy-efficient features, such as air source heat pumps and photovoltaic panels alongside green spaces, a new primary school and cricket facility.

Guy Slocombe, SNG chief investment and development officer, said: “This is the first deal of this size in the Vale of White Horse – and it marks an exciting and significant milestone in our ambition to really accelerate our development pipeline.

“As we celebrate this deal today, we’re keen to build on this success, to deliver more schemes of this size and nature, and in doing so, work with others to help address the shortage of affordable homes in the area.”

The development will be carried out in several phases in partnership with Barrat Redrow, including its David Wilson Homes brand.

The first homes are scheduled for completion in 2027, subject to receiving planning approval, with all homes expected to be completed by 2032.

The JV said it is also considering ways to increase the number of affordable homes being delivered at the site.
