The 10,000-home housing association has appointed a new executive director of finance and executive director of central services
Settle has appointed Iain Bacon as executive director of finance and Donna North has joined as executive director of central services.
Settle has said that these appointments bring additional strength and capacity to its executive team, as the Hertfordshire-based housing association focuses on successfully delivering its new 2030 plan.
Bacon joined Settle in March as interim executive director of finance and has now been appointed permanently.
He has more than 12 years of experience in the housing sector, having previously served as an interim commercial director at Gateway Housing Association and a finance consultant at Shepherds Bush Housing Group, which is part of the Guinness Partnership.
Before that, he was interim chief financial officer at Octavia.

Bacon said: “I am delighted to be made permanent in this role. I have seen the culture and commitment of my colleagues at Settle and feel it is a great time to join. I am pleased with the strength of the business and look forward to working with our partners and colleagues to continue building on this success.”
North has been promoted from her previous position as assistant director of people and engagement to executive director of central services.
In the role, North is responsible for ‘central functions’ including people, IT, facilities and communications.
Before she joined Settle in 2019, North was head of HR at employment agency The Adecco Group, before that she was a HR business partner at Rolls-Royce, and also worked at E.ON and Experian.
North said: “We have transformed the business in recent years, ensuring that our colleagues and services are aligned and focused on delivering the best outcomes for our residents. I am proud to have been integral in establishing the ‘settle way’ of working and am excited to continue this journey, especially as we roll out our 2030 corporate plan.”
Settle’s 2030 plan outlines its priorities of being “relentlessly resident focused, providing safe and warm homes, meeting housing need and being a responsible social business”.
