Housebuilder pairs up with housing association to develop site in Brentford, west London
Planners have given the go-ahead for a 420-home, £170m scheme in Brentford, west London, to be built jointly by Catalyst housing association and listed housebuilder Redrow.
A resolution to grant planning has been given for the scheme, which will feature 50% affordable housing via a mix of shared ownership, London affordable rent and affordable rent, plus one, two and three-bedroom homes for private sale.
The Turner Architects-designed development will also house 45,000ft² of commercial and retail space, new public realm and a link to the nearby Brentford stadium, which is being revamped.
The development will feature a roof terrace, two internal community amenity podiums, landscaped gardens and play areas for children.
The scheme is expected to be completed in the summer of 2023.
The joint venture partnership between Redrow and Catalyst’s Catalyst by Design subsidiary was formed in August last year.
Final approval will be sought from the GLA and Hounslow council, with work expected to start in the spring of next year.
Catalyst manages 32,000 rented and shared ownership homes in London and the south east of England.
