Developer Forshaw’s proposals also includes aparthotel element
Manchester City Council has approved Forshaw Land & Property Group’s plans to build a 24-storey residential-led building on the outskirts of the city.
The Cornbrook scheme, a collaboration between the Bolton-based developer and waterside regeneration specialists Peel Waters, will be built on a brownfield site a short walk from the tram station of the same name.
The vacant site is bounded by Cornbrook Road, Chester Road and Metrolink and railway lines.
Designed by Leach Rhodes Walker, proposals would see 224 homes and 87 apart hotel studios built on the 2,249 sq m site.
It also includes public realm improvements and ground floor commercial space and community meeting spaces.
Lyndon Forshaw, chief executive, Forshaw Group said: “We are very pleased our plans have been approved by Manchester City Council.
“Our approved scheme sits on a hugely important gateway site and we are looking forward to continue working closely with Peel Waters to create a development that delivers on the ambitions of the Cornbrook Regeneration Framework.
