Former Taylor Wimpey south west finance chief Claire Burton joins housebuilder.
Persimmon’s east Wales division has hired a new finance director.
The housebuilder has hired Claire Burton, who previously worked at rival firm Taylor Wimpey South Wales for 17 years in various finance roles.
Burton joins Persimmon East Wales from 8,000-home association Bron Afon Community Housing, where she spent just four months as finance director earlier this year.
In addition to Persimmon East Wales, which deliver homes across sites from Ebbw Vale to Cardiff, Burton will also serve as finance director for Persimmon’s Welsh groundworks arm Persimmon Direct.
Burton also previously worked for Gloucestershire-based housebuilder Westbury Homes, which was subsequently acquired by Persimmon, for eight years between 1998 and 2006.
Burton said: “After leaving Taylor Wimpey, I am delighted to be back in the housebuilding industry and look forward to working with the teams at Persimmon Direct and the East Wales business.

“Being part of a team that prides itself on constructing high quality homes for local people is an exciting prospect and I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
Meanwhile Persimmon has been granted planning permission to build 135 homes at Mosshayne, in Devon.
The housebuilder has the green light for building the third phase of the project, which is set to deliver 800 homes overall.
