Housebuilder Countryside and Home Group win Oxhey approval from Three Rivers Council
Housebuilder Countryside and housing association Home Group have secured permission for the 345-home third phase of the South Oxhey scheme in Hertfordshire.
Countryside said the scheme, with a value of around £220m, will provide 65 affordable homes as well as a Lidl supermarket and 6,500 sq ft retail space.
Construction of the scheme, which was given permission by Three Rivers Council, will start later this year, said Countryside, if safe to do so given the coronavirus.
The permission marks the latest phase of the South Oxhey Central development which will see a total of 659 homes and 55,000 sq ft of space provided by Countryside and Home Group. 188 homes have been built so far in phase one, with construction of phase 2, due to provide 174 homes and a new market square, underway.
Daniel King, managing director of partnerships west London and Thames Valley at Countryside, said the firm “can’t wait” to get started on the next stage of South Oxhey’s transformation. He said: “Phase 3 will deliver a varied mix of new homes, ideal for both local residents and those looking to find their perfect home here.”
