Outgoing Notting Hill Genesis chief executive Kate Davies has joined the board of partnership housebuilder Stonebond as a non-executive director.

Davies, who announced she was leaving Notting Hill Genesis in June, will advise the Cherry family-owned housebuilder on areas including governance, growth, customer service and sustainability.

She said: “Whilst Stonebond is a relatively young company it has already established itself and has a great reputation for quality and delivery. The amount of embedded experience and knowledge is palpable.”

She added: “I’m impressed by the quality of the Stonebond product, which is being designed with long term maintenance in mind, and there is a real commitment to the sustainability agenda.”

Andrew Cornelius, group chief executive at Stonebond, which reported a nine-fold increase in profit in August, said: “Kate holds a comprehensive understanding of the housing market and we are delighted that she has chosen to share this experience and knowledge with Stonebond.”

Davies was at the helm of Notting Hill Housing Trust and then, after a merger with Genesis, Notting Hill Genesis for 18 years. She was awarded a CBE for services to housing in the Queen’s birthday honours earlier this year

At Notting Hill Genesis she oversaw large-scale development programme across all tenures at the housing association with the the creation of a private rent business, the introduction of a new housing management model and a merger that created one of the largest housing associations in the country.
