Scheme will feature 20 homes for affordable rent and 20 shared-ownership
Optivo has been given planning permission to build 40 affordable homes on a greenfield site in Ticehurst, East Sussex.
The housing association received the nod from Rother district council for the £6.6m development, which will feature 20 homes for affordable rent and 20 shared-ownership homes.
Comprising a mix of one- to four-bedroom houses and flats, the site will be low-density and feature 65 parking bays.
A large open space is planned for the north of the site, while talks are under way with Ticehurst parish council to install an informal play area.
Optivo has appointed Billingshurst-based contractor Thakeham Client to build the scheme.
Work will start in June this year and completion is expected in late 2020.
Neill Tickle, Optivo’s land and new business director, said the housing association had “engaged and consulted with local residents at every stage” to create high-quality affordable homes for local people.
Optivo recently topped out a 14-storey residential tower in Croydon, south London.
Verde House, due to complete next year, will include 113 new homes featuring high-quality one-, two- and three-bedroom flats, a variety of which will be affordable homes for local people.
