The south west London scheme, known as Apex 1, will also include 5,250 sq ft of retail space on land released as a result of the joint venture’s New Covent Garden Market redevelopment.

Nick Smith, senior development manager at St Modwen, said:  “Apex 1 promises to be a high-quality new scheme for Nine Elms.

Plans for the Apex 1 scheme in Nine Elms have just been approved

“This latest planning decision means we can deliver new homes for the area while achieving another important milestone for the transformation of New Covent Garden Market.”

Apex 1 is the first building of a wider Apex development site, which is adjacent to the Nine Elms Northern Line tube station, which already has outline consent for 422 homes and 66,000 sq ft of commercial space.

The scheme has been designed by Glenn Howells Architects and is planned to be a near net zero development.
