Part of the Slough Urban Renewal project – a joint venture between Morgan Sindall and Slough borough council – the NWQ will feature 1,400 new homes “across all tenures”, 250,000ft² of commercial space, 150,000ft² of cultural facilities and 45,000ft² of leisure and retail.

The scheme has yet to go for planning but Slough borough council said an updated masterplan for the scheme would be submitted by March next year.

The revamp of Slough’s town centre is said to be one of the UK’s largest redevelopment programmes.

John Morgan, Morgan Sindall’s chief executive, said Muse’s appointment as development manager was “a further milestone” in the group’s partnership with the council.

“We have a strong track record working in partnership with local authorities to deliver large-scale, complex regeneration schemes,” he added.

Muse is also set to start work on a 33-storey 355-home residential tower at Canning Town in east London, which received planning from Newham council last month.

The tower is the first part of an 800-home masterplan being delivered by the English Cities Fund, a joint venture between Muse, Homes England and finance giant Legal & General.
