Plans for a third residential devleopment in the TraffordCity leisure and commericial district on the banks of Manchester Ship Canal have been approved by Trafford Council.

How the development will look

A mixture of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments will be split across two wave shaped buildings, with eight and thirteen storeys.

The residences will have private balconies, terraces, a shared garden and a deck which will connect the two structures. Private front gardens will be available in the ground floor homes designed for families.

The green light for the new homes follows residential spaces designed for elderly living with specialist dementia care and an affordable homes site now being well underway at Trafford Waters.

There will be commercial space on the ground floor, with room for cafés, restaurants and shops. X1 Developments and Peel Waters hope to add around 5,000 new jobs to the already 17,500 jobs that have been created in TraffordCity.

Nick Sweeney, founder of X1 Developments, said: “We have spent a lot of time considerately designing our development at Trafford Waters to offer a range of different amenity provisions which will hopefully encourage long-term lettings and add variety for residents.

“We hope that this will in turn make this a more sustainable location to stay as residents can ‘move up’ units or downsize as they develop in their lives/careers but choose to stay in such a desirable location.”

James Whittaker, managing director of Peel Waters commented: “We have always set out that Trafford Waters will be a community which offers something for everyone.”
