Mary Gibbons leaves post “with immediate effect”
The chief executive of Moat Homes has left her role.
Mary Gibbons, who had only been in post since January last year, is no longer chief executive “with immediate effect”, the 21,800-home housing association announced this morning.
The £161m-turnover housing association, which is based in Kent, has not explained the reasons for Gibbons’ deprture.
Steve White, chair of Moat, said: ’I wish Mary the very best and I’d like to thank her for contributions in advancing our strategic focus and realigning our purpose to provide quality homes and services to our customers by putting their experience at the centre of everything we do.”
Gibbons joined Moat last January from Essex-based association CHP, following the retirement of Elizabeth Austerberry.

Moat said a process to recruit a new chief executive “will begin shortly”. A spokesperson said the organisation will be jointly led by the board and executive team in the meantime.
Moat has a pipeline of nearly 2,000 homes and completed 459 in 2022/23.
