Nearly 300 homes will be built for Latimer, the development arm of Clarion Housing Group
Planning is being sought for a £70m build-for-sale scheme at the heart of the MediaCityUK project in Salford.
Being built for Latimer, the development arm of Clarion Housing Group (CHG), the Sheppard Robson-designed, 280-home scheme will range across 14 to 17 storeys and feature one-, two- and three-bedroom flats.
The homes will be sold and the profits reinvested in CHG’s affordable homes programme and its existing social housing stock.
Peel L&P and developer Glenbrook have submitted the proposals to Salford city council.
CHG is currently building 552 new homes in Salford, according to director of development Richard Cook, who said the latest plans underlined his firm’s commitment to the area.
A joint venture between Peel L&P and Legal & General Capital, MediaCityUK is a 200-acre mixed-use development and currently home to broadcasters the BBC and ITV as well as mobile communications giant Ericsson.
