Debi Marriott-Lavery is making the move down under

Marriott-Lavery has been appointed chief executive of St George Community Housing, which manages around 7,000 homes in Sydney.

Marriott-Lavery has led 13,000-home Magenta Living since November 2022, overseeing the publication of the organisation’s ‘Road to 2030’ strategic plan.

Under this plan the association is aiming to build 1,000 homes by 2030, increase turnover to £100m (up from £77m), bring all of its homes to Energy Performance Certificate ‘c’ or better, create £30m in social value a year and increase its net surplus to 10%. It is also aiming for half of transactions to be digital under the same timeframe.

Prior to working at Magenta Living, Marriott-Lavery worked for six years at Places for People, serving as group executive director and before that leading PfP’s specialist supported housing subsidiary Places for People Living.

She has worked in various roles related to care and support, serving as managing director at care provider Care UK and chief operating officer at Anchor.

Ged Lucas, chair at Magenta Living said: ‘The board of Magenta Living are sad to see Debi leave but very much appreciate the leadership she has given to the organisation during her time with us.

“Debi, with the support of the board has set an ambitious and transformative agenda which we will ensure remains our direction for the future. We wish Debi every success in her next adventure and are grateful for her drive and ambition.’

A spokesperson for Magenta Living said the association will announce details about plans to appoint a successor soon.
