London-based housing association says 53% of the homes will be affordable
L&Q is set to build 137 new homes in Croydon, south London, after the local authority approved the housing association’s plans.
The development on a vacant site on Addiscombe Road will deliver the homes, 73 of which will be affordable.
Designed by architect GSA the scheme will comprise a building that is partly eight storeys and partly 18 storeys.
L&Q recently announced it was buying North-west housing association Trent Housing Trust in a deal that the pair said would unlock £4bn of investment in the region.
The London-based L&Q currently manages more than 90,000 homes and plans to more than double that over the next 10 years as it builds another 100,000 new homes.
