The project in Uxbridge is the firm’s fourth project
Legal & General has announced its first later living development in the capital, in Uxbridge.
The site, which the firm acquired for £130m, will be developed and operated by Guild Living, the financial giant’s specialist later living business.
Guild Living will develop the Uxbridge town centre site, currently a retail warehouse occupied by Halfords and Wickes, to build later living apartments and facilities that will be open to the wider community.
The project will include 200 homes.
The development will also offer tailored care suites that aim to support local NHS services by helping people who leave hospital to move back to independent living.
Guild Living’s other three projects are in Epsom (pictured), Bath and Walton-on-Thames.
Legal & General has set up two specialist businesses for age-specific accommodation - Inspired Villages and Guild Living, the latter last year with a target to produce more than 3,000 homes over five years.
The combined gross development value of these businesses exceeds £2.8bn.
