Nick Moore has resigned as managing director of Kier Living having taken on the role last July following the departure of John Anderson.

He has been replaced by David Bridges, who has previously worked for housing firms including Taylor Wimpey, Linden Homes, McCarthy & Stone and Keepmoat, and has been given the title of chief executive officer.

Moore’s departure comes after the business’s managing director for the north, Sue Warwick, left in the middle of last month.

Sources suggested that a potential buyer for the operation had their own individual in mind to run the business.

Kier’s housing arm was put on the block last June after chief executive Andrew Davies (pictured) said the business, which last year saw the number of homes it built drop 6% to 1,926, was no longer a core part of the group.

Last month, HOusing Today’s sister title Building revealed a bid by Kier Living’s management to buy the £374m turnover business was now out of the running. The race is believed to be down to two private equity firms.

Analysts had been expecting an announcement on the sale by the end of last year but it is understood December’s general election has delayed the process.

Kier is due to unevil its interim results this Thursday (5 March).
