Jerome Geoghegan replaces the retiring Janet Mussington
Islington and Shoreditch Housing Association (ISHA) has appointed a new director of development.
Jerome Geoghegan, who has previously had development and planning roles at L&Q and Telford Homes, said he was “eager to contribute to creating quality, affordable housing.”
Geoghegan has over 35 years experience in real estate and development, working on regeneration and affordable housing projects, mixed-purpose urban developments and partnerships.
ISHA chief executive Ruth Davison said: “[Geoghegan’s] extensive background in housing development is a tremendous asset for us, especially as ISHA moves beyond its 90th year with ambitions of furthering our mission in North London.”
Geoghegan replaces Janet Mussington, who has retired after a career in housing development which started in North Islington and Hackney Housing association.
Mussington later took up senior positions at the housing associations, Sanctuary as well as ISHA.
A community-based housing association for people in north and east London, ISHA provides more than 2,500 homes in the capital.
It also leads a consortium called the North River Alliance, which recently gained £15.7 million through the Greater London Authority’s affordable housing programme to create 105 new homes in North London.
In almost 20 years, the alliance has developed over 3,500 new homes.
Geoghegan added: “Last year alone, ISHA was responsible for building 0.5% of all social homes in England. ”
