Ex-Savills exec joins Legal & General-owned retirement home operation
Inspired Villages, Legal & General’s later-living business, has named Stuart Garnett as its new planning director.
Garnett joins the business, established by L&G in 2017, from Savills, where he oversaw a range of residential schemes including retirement living and mixed-use developments.
Inspired Villages currently has eight sites, including Leeds Village in Kent (pictured), six of which are operational, while a further 16 are in various stages of development.
A typical scheme has a village centre that features a wellness suite – including a swimming pool, gym and treatment room – and other leisure facilities including a restaurant, shops and a cinema.
L&G aims to have 50 Inspired Villages sites in place by 2029.
Its existing schemes are located in Bedfordshire, Cheshire, Devon, Hampshire, Kent, Warwickshire and West Sussex.
Since it was founded two years ago, Inspired Villages has grown its team from 20 personnel to 240 people.
