The spate of new hires follows Igloo Regeneration’s acquisition by PfP Capital, the social value and ESG-focused real estate fund manager, earlier this year which coincided with the departure of chair and founder Chris Brown.

Joe Broadley joins as North East development director to oversee existing projects such as Stephenson Quarter, and the Pioneer in Newcastle, whilst also looking for expansion opportunities across the North of England.

“I am thrilled to be able to make a contribution to igloo’s mission to drive positive impact through the development of mixed-use communities across the North,” Broadley said in a statement.

He will work alongside Insiyah Khushnood, who has been appointed as senior development manager and will lead projects including the future phases of The Ouseburn in Newcastle.

Khushnood said: “To be part of a business that is both innovative and ethical in its creation of sustainable and lasting developments and communities, is something I am really proud of.”

Matt Woolgar has joined as development director to focus on igloo’s projects in the south, including the Central Winchester Regeneration project and the Oakfield development in Swindon with Nationwide Building Society.

Lowri Bond has also been promoted to a leadership role in Igloo Footprint which links developments to social purpose.

“Everything we do is driven by impact, whether it’s social, environmental or economic, and it is footprint® which binds all of our purposes into our projects and creates meaningful value for our investors and for the communities that we work with,” she said.

igloo is the UK’s first B Corporation in the real estate sector. Prior to its acquisition by PfP Capital, the two firms spent five years working together through a joint venture, formed following Places for People’s acquisition of the igloo Regeneration Fund.
