Mark Howden joins Peaks & Plains as director of place
Balfour Beatty’s head of residential development Mark Howden has left the contractor to join Macclesfield-based housing trust Peaks & Plains this week as director of place.
Howden (pictured) had worked for Balfour Beatty since 2001, first as head of infrastructure projects at the contractor’s Manchester Enterprises operation, then a decade as head of regeneration for Balfour Beatty Investments.
Peaks & Plains, which manages more than 5,000 homes across East Cheshire and High Peak in Derbyshire, said the director of place role was one of 42 new positions being created by the trust as part of its five-year plan, taking its staff levels from 180 to 222.
Tim Pinder, P&P’s chief executive, said Howden’s appointment was “a real coup”.
“He brings with him extensive experience, which will be invaluable as we push ahead with our ambitious five-year plan.
“His passion for great placemaking is perfectly aligned with our values, and I’ve no doubt he’ll be a huge asset to both our team and our communities,” Pinder added.
