Laura Cassullo joins Jo Cowen Architects, firm behind Present Made’s suburban Build to Rent push
Jo Cowen Architects has appointed Laura Cassullo to be its first strategic director in a drive to grow the business.
Cassullo joins the Chelsea-based firm from being UK head at global architecture business Broadway Malyan for six years, where she led a team of over 130 architects, designers, masterplanners, and urban planners.
She brings with her 20 years of experience during which she has overseen several large-scale residential developments, such as EcoWorld’s 910-home scheme by Brentford Football Club Community Stadium – one of the UK’s first build-to-rent projects.
Jo Cowen Architects has been engaged by Present Made, the suburban build-to-rent venture formed last year by Apache Capital, to design the homes and communities for its £1.6bn push into single family rented housing.
Cassullo said: “I have long admired Jo Cowen Architects for their ability to deliver high quality design while balancing the commercial imperatives of investors and the needs of local authorities.”
Jo Cowen said: “Laura’s blend of residential and hospitality experience means she is well positioned to support us in our focus on the UK living sectors, as housing increasingly borrows from hotels and vice versa.”
Before Broadway Malyan, Cassullo worked at 3D Reid.
