Lou Downe will oversee the design of effective services for the government’s housing delivery agency
Homes England has appointed Lou Downe as its first director of service design and transformation as part of the agency’s drive to “transform planning and development” across the sector.
A starting date for Downe (pictured), who is currently head of service design and standards for the UK government at the government digital service, has yet to be confirmed.
Speaking about her appointment Downe said: “We have a hugely important challenge ahead to create a world where urban development is both sustainable for people and for the environment and I’m honoured to be given the task of helping this vision become a reality.”
Downe’s appointment is the latest in a series of moves by Homes England which has been beefing up its management team in recent weeks.
Earlier this month the agency named former Metropolitan Police finance boss Lynda McMullan as its new chief financial officer and Brian McIntyre, formerly a technology specialist at consultant Atkins, as its first chief digital and technology officer.
