£30m procurement programme will helop prepare state-owned land for development

Housebuilding

Homes England has appointed 13 firms to three national frameworks as the government looks to develop public land for housing across England.

The frameworks all started in the past three months and will run for four years, enabling procurement of up to £30m for work on dealing with asbestos, estate management and land survey activity.

Homes England said a number of SMEs had been appointed to the frameworks.

Stephen Kinsella, Homes England’s executive director for land, said the firms appointed were all specialists “who bring with them a wealth of knowledge and technical expertise”.

The asbestos and land survey frameworks will also be available to other sector bodies and form part of the suite of Homes England frameworks.

Homes England said the asbestos framework would help provide services of £10m to de-risk sites in advance of their delivery to the market, while the estates management services framework would enable procurement of £15m to manage land.

The land survey framework will make available up to £5m of specialist land survey services.
