South east housebuilder creates new role as part of push to reach £1.2bn turnover
Hill Group has appointed a former Countryside exec to the newly created role of head of London land at the South east-based housebuilder.
Sandeep Sankoli (pictured, right) joins the firm in the wake of a £300m land buying spree in the capital by the builder, instigated in the wake of the covid lockdown last autumn.
Recent schemes won by Hill in the capital include the Lampton Parkside scheme in Hounslow, the 1,750-home Teviot Estate regeneration in Popular and the 800-home Woolwich Leisure Centre redevelopment.
Announcing the focus on London last October, Hill said it was part of a drive to turn the business into a £1.2bnbn-turnover housebuilder and partnerships housing provider by 2025.
As well as time at Countryside, where he was most recently director of land and new business in its partnerships south division, Sankoli has experience at build to rent specialist Fizzy Living and housing association giant L&Q.
Andy Hill, group chief executive of the Hill Group, said Sankoli had “a deep understanding of the London market” which would allow him to expand Hill’s business in the capital.
“Sandeep’s experience in urban regeneration and placemaking is second to none,” said Hill. “He has an outstanding track record in securing major land deals in and around the Capital and is an excellent addition for the group.”
