Rob Hudson to join listed residential landlord as board-level executive director
Private residential landlord Grainger has poached St Modwen’ finance boss to be the firm’s next chief financial officer.
Grainger, which is one of the UK’s leading build to rent developers, said that Rob Hudson will join the firm later this year as an executive director sitting on the board.
Hudson is currently chief financial officer and chief operations officer at regeneration and logistics developer St Modwen, and was last year the interim chief executive there prior to the appointment of Sarwjit Sambhi in November.
St Modwen said in a statement Hudson (pictured, left) had a 12-month notice period from his job and will continue working until a departure date is agreed. The firm said it had already begun the process of recruiting a successor to him.
Helen Gordon, chief executive of Grainger, said she was “delighted” at the appointment. “His extensive experience and expertise within the UK real estate sector will bring a valuable contribution to Grainger as we continue to invest responsibly, drive growth and continually improve the business, while delivering strong results and attractive shareholder returns.”
Grainger earlier this month reported that rental income had grown 2.4% in recent trading, despite the coronavirus crisis, but that 10% of its rental flats were currently sitting empty due to a “delay” in the expected recovery of occupancy amid the latest covid lockdown.
