Industry raises concern about added cost to building

The government is to work on regulations and processes for sustainable drainage systems to be mandatory for all new developments in England, following a review. 

Drainage systems will be required to reduce the impact of rainfall on new developments, using, for example, soakaways, grassed areas, permeable surfaces and wetlands.
