Linden Homes – the housebuilding arm of Galliford Try Partnerships – and Edinburgh-based Miller Homes plan to build 750 homes on land bought by the pair near Chichester in West Sussex.

The new partnership will deliver the homes as part of the first phase of development at Whitehouse Farm, west of Chichester city centre, which received outline planning permission from Chichester district council in April 2018.

The new homes, 30% of which will be affordable, will be built by 2028.

Whitehouse Farm was allocated for development in the council’s adopted local plan and a second phase on the 121ha site is due to deliver 850 homes.

The overall scheme will feature a community building, a new medical centre, a primary school, a country park, children’s play areas, allotments and sports pitches and associated facilities.

Linden Home’s Phil Chapman said the land deal came after almost 16 years of promoting the site with Miller Homes through the planning system and working with the local council and stakeholders.

“We’re continuing to look for sites in prime locations that are attractive to first-time and family buyers,” he added.
