Halton Borough Council has approved plans for 335 homes near Runcorn from a joint venture between Together Housing and Galliford Try Partnerships.

The scheme in Sandymoor will see 235 homes for sale built alongside an extra-care retirement housing scheme with 100 apartments. Homes for sale will be delivered by Galliford Try’s housebuilding arm, Linden Homes.

The permission comes in advance of the sale of Galliford Try Partnerships and Linden Homes to rival housebuilder Bovis Homes.

As well as new homes, the development will include a public bistro and multi-use room, play areas, maintained landscaping, a bridleway and cycling and pedestrian routes.

The scheme was designed by Sten Architecture and JDA Architects.

Brendan Blythe, managing director at Galliford Try Partnerships North West, said he was delighted at the approval and was “looking forward to making this vision a reality.”
