Williams has led the organisation since 2003, when it was formed as Amber Valley Housing through a stock transfer from Amber Valley borough council. She oversaw a merger with Daventry & District Housing in 2007 to create FHG.

FHG was last year involved in prolonged discussions with BPHA and Flagship about merging to create a 60,000-home, £374m-turnover housing provider. However, the plans were shelved last October with the trio citing “economic turbulence”.
