Homes England has named former Metropolitan Police commercial and finance director Lynda McMullan as the agency’s new chief finance officer.

McMullan has been the Met’s main number-cruncher for five years and previously held senior posts at the London mayor’s office for policing and crime and at the National Audit Office.

As Homes England’s finance boss she will oversee the agency’s £6.5bn net programme budget, including £120m in operational expenditure, as well as the organisation’s £30bn balance sheet.

She is expected to start her new job in the summer, once she has served her notice period with the Met.

Homes England also confirmed that Amy Casterton would be made its permanent chief of staff with immediate effect, having been in the post on an interim basis for 18 months.
