Peter Denton becomes non-executive member of 245,000-home PfP Group
The former chief executive of Homes England, Peter Denton, has been appointed to Places for People’s board.
Denton was at the helm of Homes England for 3.5 years and before then served as chief executive of 120,000-home housing association Hyde Group for almost two years.
Prior to this, he spent 25 years in pan-European real estate investment management and banking in strategic leadership roles at organisations including Starwood Capital, BNP Paribas, Barclays and Deutsche Bank.
The new recruit is also a non-executive member of the Real Estate Committee at Eurazeo, a council member and chair of the finance committee at Marlborough College, and a global trustee of the Urban Land Institute.
Places for People (PfP) encompasses 20 housing providers, developers, property managers and care providers.
It owns and manages over 245,000 properties across the UK, including 74,000 social rented homes.

Denton said: “I joined the housing sector because I care deeply about addressing the terrible housing challenge our country faces and, specifically, because I wanted to help get children out of temporary accommodation, the number of which is now a staggering 160,000.
“PfP is a social enterprise entirely focused on creating and supporting thriving communities directly tackling the scourge of homelessness. I look forward to playing my part to help them deliver on this.”
