Miller Homes names Stephen Stone as senior non-executive board member
Former Crest Nicholson chief executive Stephen Stone has been appointed by Miller Homes as a senior non-executive member to the board.
Also a former chair at Keepmoat Homes, Stone has 40 years experience in house building and his appointment comes after a restructure of Miller Homes’ leadership team.
Chris Endsor, executive chair at Miller Homes, said: “Stephen is a valuable addition to the board, with few people sharing his vast experience and knowledge of the sector.
“His operational and strategic leadership skills will be extremely complementary and ensure we are even better placed to create additional value for all our stakeholders, whilst continuing our excellent financial and operational performance.”
Stone was boss of Crest Nicholson between 2005 and 2019, during which time he negotiated its flotation on the stock exchange. He was appointed chair at Keepmoat in 2019 and resigned from that post in October last year.
Stone sits on the board of modular housebuilder Ilke and last year set up “for profit” housing provider Flint Housing.
His other non-executive roles include at The Home Builders Federation (HBF) and National House Building Council (NHBC). Stone has also acted as an advisor to Apollo, the asset management company that acquired Miller Homes from its previous investor, Bridgepoint, earlier this year.
Miller Homes recently restructured its leadership team, with Stewart Lynes becoming chief executive earlier this year, replacing Chris Endsor who stepped up to the role of executive chair.
Miller Homes currently builds approximately 4,000 homes a year across the UK and plans to grow to 6,000 units in the medium-term.
