£12.9m grant is an extension of its strategic partnership with the government’s housing delivery agency
EMH, the east Midlands-based housing association, plans to build 200 new homes for social rent in the region after being awarded nearly £13m from Homes England.
The £12.9m grant is part of an extension of its strategic partnership with the government’s housing delivery agency.
EMH was named as one of 23 Homes England’s partners last year, receiving nearly £31m to build affordable homes.
The latest funding is specifically designed to support the delivery of homes for social rent.
EMH kicked off construction this week on a 65-apartment extra care scheme in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, which is being built by Willmott Dixon.
The development of one- and two-bedroom apartments will be built with offsite-constructed bathroom pods.
The scheme will also include a private residents’ lounge and communal gardens, and a beauty salon and a bistro which will be open to the public.
